be creative: creativity for fun

In real life situations requiring creativity, the available information is often so ambiguous and inadequate that rational analysis will not deliver an elegant solution.

Part of the art of creativity is in cultivating the ability to focus intently on the essential essence of the problem, while juggling with the possibilities in a playful and apparently unfocussed way. To do this well, one needs to feel comfortable working with ambiguous information and the associations that spring to mind. After a while, a solution will come to mind that feels pleasing. This sense of pleasure is often a signal that the unconscious has found something that will justify more careful analysis by the rational mind.
